2011-10-15  : PointyKitty Studios & Alt.Kilt Multi-Artist Fall Studio Sale website
The weather is slowly cooling off, the holidays are approaching, and we've been de-stashing a great deal of our studio inventory and pulled all sorts of things that are in need of new, loving homes, and invite you to come select some for adoption, post haste! Join us Saturday, October 15th, from 9am - 5pm!

Items available will include semi-precious gemstones, pearls, and Czech glass beads, both loose and in strands; basemetal beads and findings; a large variety of novelty yarns and fibers; rubber stamps (some mounted, some not;) fabric; notions; patterns; buttons; sewing hardware; and more!

There may also be some scrapbooking items, ephemera, fabrics, and other items as I find them - I'm on a de-cluttering mission, and still adding to the list!

Join PointyKitty Studios this September 10-11th from 10am-5pm each day for the Downtown Downer's Grove Art Fair in picturesque Downer's Grove, IL.

In addition to the handmade work of over 130 incredible artists, there will also be hands-on arts projects, live music, local food, and fun for all ages. Hope to see you there!

2011-07-31  : PointyKitty at AAUW's Art Fair on the Green
Sponsored by the La Crosse Branch of the American Association of University Women, PointyKitty Studios will be joining more than 90 professional fine artists from around the country July 30-31st in Lindner Woods on the UW-La Crosse campus to display a wide variety of media at the 53rd Annual Art Fair on the Green.

Proceeds go to scholarships for students from area high schools, as well as for students currently attending La Crosse universities and the technical school. Past support has allowed AAUW to grant over a quarter million dollars in scholarships since the beginning of the fair in 1958.

2011-07-10  : Gold Coast Art Fair - Chicago, IL website
Join PointyKitty Studios this July 9-10th from 9am-7pm each day for the Gold Coast Art Fair, set in Chicago’s famous Grant Park at the corner of Monroe Street and Lake Shore Drive, across the street from the Art Institute of Chicago. We're located in Booth #359, in the middle of South Columbus Drive.

Heralded as the “Grand Daddy” of American art festivals, the Gold Coast Art Fair embarks this summer on its 52nd year of wowing Chicago. As one of the most highly attended art fairs in the city, The Gold Coast Art Fair annually attracts approximately 450 juried artists and 350,000 visitors from locations around the world.

There will also be hands-on arts projects, live music, local food, and fun for all ages. Hope to see you there!

2011-07-03  : PointyKitty at CONvergence XIII: Tomorrow Through the Past website
Join PointyKitty Studios in the Dealers room of the CONvergence -- a convention for fans of science fiction and fantasy convention of all media at the Sheraton Hotel South in Bloomington, Minnesota, June 30th - July 3rd.

Celebrating their 13th Anniversary this year, this year's convention theme is "Tomorrow Through the Past," a celebration of yesterday's visions of tomorrow, and will feature an Art Show, multiple discussion panels, and incredible list of guests of honor, a Masquerade ball, free food and drink for attendees, and dozens of room parties.

Be the first to see what new creations will be unveiled in the Anachrotech Collection, and check out the extra-fabulous work featured in the CONvergence Art Show! Don't miss it!

2011-06-19  : PointyKitty Exhibiting at Brickworld 2011 website
June 15-19th, we'll be at Brickworld 2011 at the Westin Hotel in Wheeling, Illinois, in the Northwest suburbs of Chicago, showcasing our line of Lego jewelry and accessories, as well as a series of Lego stained glass mosaic panels.

I'll also be facilitating two presentations during the convention -- a Female Fan of Lego (FFOL) Roundtable Discussion, and a presentation on building with transparent bricks!

Brickworld is a four-day convention for Lego enthusiasts, and includes two weekend days of special seminars and presentations for the general public, as well as 20,000 square feet of fan-built Lego creations. In addition to her earrings and necklaces, Alyska will have new men's cuff links and tie tacs for that special father in your life!

2011-06-17  : Boys Build, Girls Play? A Female Fan of Lego (FFOL) Roundtable Discussion
Friday, June 17th, we'll be at Brickworld 2011 facilitating two discussions during the convention.

From 3-4pm, join the annual roundtable discussion for female fans of Lego (FFOL) and share your passion for the brick. We'll be discussing issues important to the FFOL segment of the AFOL community, and brainstorming ideas and suggestions for how we can be better served as an important demographic of The Lego Group's audience, from youth through adulthood!

2011-06-17  : I Can See Through What You Did There - Mosaics and sculptural building with transparent bricks
Friday, June 17th, we'll be at Brickworld 2011 facilitating two discussions during the convention.

From 12-1pm, join AFOLs Alyska Bailey Peterson and Chris Doyle for "I Can See Through What You Did There" Mosaics and sculptural building with transparent bricks - a presentation on one of the more neglected parts of the Lego color palette - transparent bricks! We'll cover a couple of different building styles, demonstrate how to combine colors and vary parts to diversify your palette, and talk about other unique uses for the parts you can see through.

2011-06-05  : Eastside Millennium Art Festival - Chicago, IL website
Join PointyKitty Studios this June 3-5th from 10am-5pm each day at the Eastside Millennium Art Festival, which Chicago show producer Amdur Productions originally founded years ago as the New Eastside Artworks.

Located on Michigan Avenue at Lake Street, this 150-artist downtown Chicago show sits just north of the internationally acclaimed Art Institute of Chicago and the world famous Millennium Park, well known for "The Bean" and interactive water sculptures.

There will also be hands-on arts projects, live music, local food, and fun for all ages. Hope to see you there!

2011-06-01  : PointyKitty at the Dane County Farmer's Market
Come visit! PointyKitty Studios will once again be vending up on the Capitol Square during the Dane County Farmer's Market on Saturdays from 8am-2pm from May 7st - May 28th this summer. We'll be located at the intersection of State Street and Capitol Square, along with a host of other fantastic artists and craftspeople.

While at the market, we'll be running a number of special sales, and have pieces available that you won't find for sale in our online store. So while you're perusing the fruits (and veggies and cheeses) of the other vendors' labors, stop by, say hello, and pick up a pretty shiny or two to take home with you!

2011-05-22  : PK at Lego KidsFest: Minneapolis! website
Lego KidsFest is a fun weekend-long event filled with interactive, creative and educational activities for kids and their families.

Visiting Minneapolis, MN, May 20-22, you can build in the Construction Zone, play at the Race Ramps, create at Creation Nation, be your own Master Builder with an entry into Cool Creations and more!

PointyKitty Studios will be exhibiting our stained glass mosaic work during the festival as a part of the AFOL (Adult Fan of Lego) displays, debuting a new Creation-themed pentych of windows based off originals at the Church of the Sacred Heart in Bilton, Warwickshire, England.

2011-03-05  : Glitter Workshop - For the Luck of the Craft website
The Craftacular and The Glitter Workshop are proud to announce their second monthly trunk show, a jewelry showcase dubbed "For the Luck of the Craft!"

GW will be showcasing six of your favorite Craftacular artists each month that they do not have a large event planned so you can shop and meet the artists.

The March event will be Saturday, March 5th at The Glitter Workshop at 6138 Mineral Point Rd. in Madison.
