2010-10-01  : MAOAS Gallery Night - Opening Reception & Silent Auction website
Join us at the Overture Center from 5-9pm on Friday, October 1st to celebrate the kick-off reception to this annual event celebrating the diversity and vitality of the visual arts in the Madison-area.

The evening will feature a free reception, silent auction, and the debut of three galleries of artwork by local artists before they open their studios to the public for the rest of the weekend!

Ever wonder what goes on inside the studio of an artist? On October 2nd and 3rd, PointyKitty Studios will be once again participating in Madison's Open Art Studios event, sharing studio exhibition space this year with fellow photographer Will Ringland of abmann.net.

Madison Area Open Art Studios is an annual event celebrating the diversity and vitality of the visual arts in the Madison-area. Over 150 artists open their studios to the public for the weekend.

Visitors can look at art, talk with artists, and learn about technique and craft, all in an open-house, informal environment.

2010-08-22  : PointyKitty at Chicago's Gold Coast Art Fair website
Join PointyKitty Studios this August 20-22nd for the Gold Coast Art Fair, set in Chicago’s famous Grant Park at the corner of Monroe Street and Lake Shore Drive, across the street from the Art Institute of Chicago. We're located in Booth #359, in the middle of South Columbus Drive.

Heralded as the “Grand Daddy” of American art festivals, the Gold Coast Art Fair embarks this summer on its 52nd year of wowing Chicago. As one of the most highly attended art fairs in the city, The Gold Coast Art Fair annually attracts approximately 400 juried artists and 350,000 visitors from locations around the world.

There will also be hands-on arts projects, live music, local food, and fun for all ages. Hope to see you there!

2010-08-15  : PK at the Glitter Workshop Summer Craftacular!
Join PointyKitty Studios, along with a host of the area's other talented artists and crafters for the Glitter Workshop's Summer Craftacular, to be held Sunday, August 15th from 10 am to 5 pm at the East Side Club. Artists' booths will fill both banquet rooms as well as the outdoor lawn / Tiki patio area.

Our booth is #61, located outdoors on the lawn!

Not only is the East Side Club a great, established location, but it also offers amazing views of Lake Monona, great parking, cash bars (we will be using the upstairs main bar as well as the outdoor Tiki Bar), and a helpful staff. The Tiki Bar will also offer some simple food options for purchase.

2010-08-11  : Toy Chest Group Exhibition by Uncommon Nonsense website
Join us as we showcase our Nostalgia Collection pieces at "Toy Chest," a group exhibition by local artists collective Uncommon Nonsense.

Also featuring DJs Neehigh, Tinhead, Paulie, and Weaztek. With special Performance by the Art Brothers and over 40 artists works on display! Doors at 9PM, 21+ ID required.

2010-08-08  : PK at Greenway Station's Art Fest website
Come browse through an outdoor art gallery August 7-8 at Greenway Station in Middleton, Wisconsin, and discover a wonderful array of jewelry, glass, photography, sculpture, painting woodwork, and more by some of the area's top artists!

PointyKitty Studios will have pieces available at ArtFest that you won't find anywhere else, so stop by, say hello, and pick up a shiny bauble or two. You deserve it.

2010-07-25  : Art Fair on the Green website
Sponsored by the La Crosse Branch of the American Association of University Women, PointyKitty Studios will be joining more than 90 professional fine artists from around the country July 24-25 in Lindner Woods on the UW-La Crosse campus to display a wide variety of media at the 52st Annual Art Fair on the Green.

Proceeds go to scholarships for students from area high schools, as well as for students currently attending La Crosse universities and the technical school. Past support has allowed AAUW to grant over a quarter million dollars in scholarships since the beginning of the fair in 1958.

2010-07-11  : PK Merchanting at Warriors & Warlords XVII website
PointyKitty Studios will be merchanting with Svanna's Treasures (and a host of other talented artisans) From July 8-11th at this year's Warriors and Warlords event at Kronshage Park in Boscobel, Wisconsin.

We've got a new shipment of natural amber and freshwater pearls in, and a new selection of lampwork glass beads in addition to our finished jewelry offerings. There will also be combat tournaments, classes, archery, arts, we merchants, and many other opportunities for fun!

Join PointyKitty Studios in the Dealers room of the CONvergence science fiction and fantasy convention at the Sheraton Hotel South in Bloomington, Minnesota, July 1-4th.

Celebrating their 12th Anniversary this year, the convention features an Art Show, multiple discussion panels, guests of honor, a Masquerade ball, free food and drink for attendees, and dozens of room parties.

2010-06-20  : PointyKitty Exhibiting at Brickworld 2010 website
June 17-20th, we'll be at Brickworld 2010 at the Westin Hotel in Wheeling, Illinois, in the Northwest suburbs of Chicago, showcasing our line of Lego jewelry and accessories.

Brickworld is a four-day convention for Lego enthusiasts, and includes two weekend days of special seminars and presentations for the general public, as well as 20,000 square feet of fan-built Lego creations. In addition to her earrings and necklaces, Alyska will have new men's cuff links and tie tacs for that special father in your life!

2010-06-12  : Dane County Farmer's Market
Come visit! PointyKitty Studios will once again be vending up on the Capitol Square during the Dane County Farmer's Market on Saturdays from 8am-2pm from May 1st - June 12th this summer. We'll be located at the intersection of State Street and Capitol Square, along with a host of other fantastic artists and craftspeople.

While at the market, we'll be running a number of special sales, and have pieces available that you won't find for sale in our online store. So while you're perusing the fruits (and veggies and cheeses) of the other vendors' labors, stop by, say hello, and pick up a pretty shiny or two to take home with you!

2010-06-06  : Eastside Millennium Art Festival website
Join PointyKitty Studios this June 4-6th at the Eastside Millennium Art Festival, which Chicago show producer Amdur Productions originally founded years ago as the New Eastside Artworks.

Located on Michigan Avenue at Lake Street, this 150-artist downtown Chicago show sits just north of the internationally acclaimed Art Institute of Chicago and the world famous Millennium Park, well known for "The Bean" and interactive water sculptures.

2010-05-14  : Skin Deep - A Group Exhibition website
The boys and girls from Secret Ingredient Art Collective are at it again with Skin Deep, a brand new art show, on Friday May 14 at The Inferno in Madison, WI. Expect to see tons of rad artwork including screen-print, photography, sculpture, illustration, painting, and more!

Performances by Wilhelmina Baker, Glass Ghosts, and the Transgressions, plus a one-of-a-kind fashion show, all for just a $5 suggested donation. Doors open at 9pm.

PointyKitty Studios will be featured in the Alt.Kilt Steamshop in the Dealers room of the Penguicon science fiction and open source software convention at the Detroit Marriott - Troy in Troy, Michigan, April 30th - May 2nd.

Not only does the convention feature an Art Show, multiple discussion panels, guests of honor, a Masquerade ball, free food and drink for attendees, and dozens of room parties, but their main mission is about opening the source of everything by teaching you HOWTO.

Join us for "Crafting a Craft Career," a Sunday morning Penguicon panel featuring Melanie Brooks of Earthenwood Studios, Jeanie Davan of Alt. Kilt, and yours truly!

"The trials and tribulations of making a living as a craft artist can be complicated as well as rewarding. A panel of professional artists share some of the details of their studio lives, experiences selling online and at public venues, and the truth about the adventurous life of an artist."


2010-04-23  : UW Spring Art Fair
Join PointyKitty Studios Friday, April 23rd on the University of Wisconsin's beautiful Library Mall, nestled in between the UW's Memorial Library, the Memorial Union, and the Wisconsin Historical Society buildings for this long-standing pre-mother's day art fair event.

Hours for the fair are 10am - 5pm. We'll be showcasing a lot of new work that was recently finished, and it's up to you to find the perfect one for that special woman in your life!

2010-04-16  : Spring Festival: An Arts & Crafts Affair website
Voted one of the Top 100 Shows in the country by Sunshine Artist Magazine, An Arts and Crafts Affair features 500 artists from over 30 states. This April 16-18, we will be one of those artists featured in the Shakopee, MN show at Canterbury Park.

You'll enjoy shopping the handcrafted wares for unique home décor, gifts personalized right at the shows, or special treasures for yourselves or loved ones, all while making a personal connection meeting & visiting with the actual artists.

Come experience the pageantry of Northshield's 12th Coronation, hosted by the Barony of Caer Anterth Mawr, at which Their Royal Highnesses Tom and Sigrid are crowned King and Queen of Northshield, and we thank retiring King and Queen Sigfried and Elizabeth for their many months of service to the kingdom and its populace.

Join us at the Waukesha County Expo Center from 9am - 10pm and see armored and unarmored combat tournaments, say hello to us as you peruse the hall of merchants, enjoy youth activities and a music circle with all sorts of dancing and merriment, and then stay for the evening feast with an authentic medieval menu!

The weather is slowly warming up, the snow is starting to melt away, and we're getting the spring cleaning bug at the studio. Over the course of the cold, cold winter, I've gone through my studio inventory and pulled all sorts of things that are in need of new, loving homes, and invite you to come select some for adoption, post haste! Join the Barony of Windhaven and PointyKitty Studios (they're hosting; we'll just be merchanting!) as we offer greetings and welcome to all bards, troubadours, trouveres, musicians, minstrels, minnesingers, jongleurs, singers, storytellers, poets, skops, skalds, fillidhs, olaves, griots, wordsmiths, and friends of the bardic and performing arts!

Intriguing challenges on the theme of circles, cycles, returning, roundness, remembrance, and coming home will be open to all who wish to try their hand, interspersed with classes relating to the bardic/performing arts, music, history, and literature.

Windhaven's famous cooks will provide their trademark delicious snacks and a sumptuous feast. Come to perform, or just to applaud friends and enjoy Northshield's talent and creativity.

On Saturday, December 12, join more than a dozen Wisconsin artists for Buy Handmade for the Holidays, one of the best places in town to support local artists and crafters and their work.

Independent artists in Madison and the surrounding area are opening up their treasure chests of unique and one-of-a-kind gifts in hopes that you will enjoy one stop shopping!

From 10am - 5pm, they will fill PointyKitty Studios on the northeast side of Madison with a variety of giftable items for you and yours this holiday season.

Come join us at the Washington County Fair Park in West Bend, WI, on Saturday, Devember 6th, from 9am-4pm, where we'll be merchanting at the SCA Kingdom of Northshield's winter event, Boar's Head, a Medieval Faire with a Roman Flair. It will also be Caer Anterth Mawr’s 30th Baronial Anniversary!

We're working on new sterling and copper pendants especially for this event, so join us to help celebrate this joyous occasion with numerous merchants, armored & rapier combat, kid’s activities, dance demos, drums, bardic activities, arts & sciences displays and classes! Hope to see you there!


2009-12-01  : Trunk shows for the holidays!
We're available the next two months to book trunk shows for you and yours. Think of it as a Partylite, Tupperware, or Pampered Chef party without the catalog and sales pitch.

No need to order and have delivered to you weeks later -- just pick out the items you like and take them home on the spot! Instant gratification!

That's how we run things -- as more of a cocktail hour in your home or office -- where you provide the munchies and drinks, we set up our work, and are available to answer questions and process sales for your guests.

As the event host(ess) you'll earn 10-15% of the show total in studio credit, which can be redeemed on jewelry or used to book a photo session or pay for prints!
