4. February 2010  : Postmodern Primitives Additions
The Postmodern Primitives Collection offers hand-forged copper and sterling silver pieces, hammered for rustic character, and make for a truly personalized gift for yourself or someone you love. All pieces have been gently oxidized for added personality and depth.

Newly added to this collection are a selection of a dozen sterling silver zodiac charms, which can also be personalized with your birthstone.

These new pendants include a 16" or 18" leather cord necklace with sterling silver lobster clasp with each purchase.


1. December 2009  : Handmade for the Holidays Show
On Saturday, December 12, join more than a dozen Wisconsin artists for Buy Handmade for the Holidays, one of the best places in town to support local artists and crafters and their work.

Independent artists in Madison and the surrounding area are opening up their treasure chests of unique and one-of-a-kind gifts in hopes that you will enjoy one stop shopping!

From 10am - 5pm, they will fill PointyKitty Studios on the northeast side of Madison with a variety of giftable items for you and yours this holiday season.

15. November 2009  : Where to Find Us This Winter
With the days getting increasingly cooler, there's only a week left in our outdoor Market season. Stop by our booth at the intersection of State Street and Capitol Square this Saturday, November 7th, from 8a-2p for one last hurrah before the Wisconsin winter makes us seriously consider hibernating for the winter!

In the meantime, here's where you can find us for the rest of the year; we'd love to see you, show you our new work, and encourage you to buy local first this holiday season!

    • 14. october 2009  : Open Art Studios This Weekend!
    Ever wonder what goes on inside the studio of an artist? On October 17th and 18th, PointyKitty Studios will be participating in Madison's Open Art Studios event.

    Madison Area Open Art Studios is an annual event celebrating the diversity and vitality of the visual arts in the Madison-area. Over 150 artists open their studios to the public for the weekend.

    Visitors can look at art, talk with artists, and learn about technique and craft, all in an open-house, informal environment.


    2. October 2009  : MAOAS Reception & Silent Auction
    Join us at the Overture Center from 5-9pm on Friday, October 2nd to celebrate the kick-off reception to this annual event celebrating the diversity and vitality of the visual arts in the Madison-area.

    The evening will feature a free reception, silent auction, and the debut of three galleries of artwork by local artists before they open their studios to the public for the weekend of October 16-17!


    4. August 2009  : PK Awarded for Being Green!
    Since the Studio's inception, whenever possible, we have used recycled, eco-friendly materials made by manufacturers who have been recycling their raw materials in order to minimize the waste and environmental impacts caused by mining.

    We also work primarily with vendors who favor fair trade practices, and work to build the communities of the workers helping to create their beads and findings.

    In July 2009, we were honored with the AAUW Art Fair on the Green's 2009 Green Award while exhibiting at their art fair in La Crosse, Wisconsin. They were impressed with our commitment to sustainability both in the materials that go into our handcrafted pieces, as well as to the communities of the people who make the components.

    We believe in doing our part to minimize our environmental footprint on this planet, and are honored to be recognized for that commitment.


    18. july 2009  : Upcoming Summer Events
    Art Fair on the Green
    Sponsored by the La Crosse Branch of the American Association of University Women, PointyKitty Studios will be joining more than 90 professional fine artists from around the country July 25-26 in Lindner Woods on the UW-La Crosse campus to display a wide variety of media at the 51st Annual Art Fair on the Green.

    Proceeds go to scholarships for students from area high schools, as well as for students currently attending La Crosse universities and the technical school. Past support has allowed AAUW to grant over a quarter million dollars in scholarships since the beginning of the fair in 1958.

    Greenway Station's ArtFest
    Come browse through an outdoor art gallery August 1-2 at Greenway Station in Middleton, Wisconsin, and discover a wonderful array of jewelry, glass, photography, sculpture, painting woodwork, and more by some of the area's top artists!

    PointyKitty Studios will have pieces available at ArtFest that you won't find anywhere else, so stop by, say hello, and pick up a shiny bauble or two. You deserve it.


    13. June 2009  : Upcoming Summer Events
    Only two weeks away, join PointyKitty Studios in the Dealers room of the CONvergence science fiction and fantasy convention at the Sheraton Hotel South in Bloomington, Minnesota July 2-5th.

    Celebrating their 11th Anniversary this year, the convention features an Art Show, multiple discussion panels, guests of honor, a Masquerade ball, free food and drink for attendees, and dozens of room parties.

    Be the first to see what new creations will be unveiled for the PointyKitty 2009 summer collection, and check out the extra-fabulous work featured in the CONvergence Art Show! Don't miss it!

    Saturdays Off the Square
    As always, you'll find us (weather permitting) up at the intersection of State Street and Capitol Square during the Dane County Farmer's Market every Saturday from 8am - 2pm until the beginning of November.

    We've been working hard to have a bunch of new work completed for these weekends, so stop by and pick up something special for that special someone (or yourself!)


    5. May 2009  : For Mothers and Matriculates!
    UW Spring Art Fair
    Join PointyKitty Studios Friday, May 8th on the University of Wisconsin's beautiful Library Mall, nestled in between the UW's Memorial Library, the Memorial Union, and the Wisconsin Historical Society buildings for a pre-mother's day art fair event. Hours for the fair are 10am - 5pm.

    We'll be showcasing a lot of new work that was recently finished, and it's up to you to find the perfect one for that special mother in your life!

    Saturdays Off the Square
    As always, you'll find us (weather permitting) up at the intersection of State Street and Capitol Square during the Dane County Farmer's Market every Saturday from 8am - 2pm until the beginning of November.

    Mother's Day is less than a week away, and the UW and MATC graduation ceremonies are coming up on May 16th and 17th! We've been working hard to have a bunch of new work completed for these weekends, so stop by and pick up something special for your graduating seniors!


    10. April 2009  : Market season starts next week!
    Come visit! PointyKitty Studios will once again be vending up on the Capitol Square during the Dane County Farmer's Market on Saturdays from 8am-2pm from April 18th through the first weekend in November of this year. We'll be located at the intersection of State Street and Capitol Square, along with a host of other fantastic artists and craftspeople.

    While at the market, we'll be running a number of special sales, and have pieces available that you won't find for sale in our online store. So while you're perusing the fruits (and veggies and cheeses) of the other vendors' labors, stop by, say hello, and pick up a pretty shiny or two to take home with you!
